Anna Maria Mendieta - Harp

Anna Maria Mendieta comes from an artistic and musical family. She began studying the harp at the age of seven at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and received a Bachelors Degree in Music from the College of Notre Dame, Belmont, California, where she now serves on the faculty. Anna Maria was thrilled to perform special concerts for such international dignitaries as President Gorbachev, and the King and Queen of Spain. She was also invited to play for President Clinton. She has appeared on television and in motion pictures and has performed for national radio. Anna Maria Mendieta has enjoyed playing for such celebrities as Francis Ford Copola, George Lucas, Ron Howard, and Lindsay Wagner just to name a few.

Bertina Mitchell - Harp

Born in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, Bertina Mitchell was introduced to the world of music by her father and began studying the harp at age twelve. She graduated with honors from the Bulgarian Conservatory of Music in Sofia, performed with the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra and recorded with the Bulgarian National Radio Orchestra. In 1993 she moved to San Francisco and now she resides in Marin County. Mrs. Mitchell received her Master's degree in 1997 from Indiana University where she studied with Susann McDonald. She presently performs with the Napa Valley Symphony, the Marin Symphony and the San Jose Symphony. She is principal harpist at the Mendocino Music Festival. In addition to teaching harp privately and giving solo recitals, Mrs. Mitchell performs often at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in San Francisco.

Boris Goldmund - Harp

Boris Goldmund studied harp in NYC with world-renowned harpist, Mildred Dilling. He was featured harpist at the Ritz-Carlton San Francisco from 1991-2001 and harpist for the US Navy on San Francisco’s Treasure Island. He has performed for Presidents Carter, Clinton, First Ladies Nancy Reagen and Hillary Clinton, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Secretary of State, Colin Powell, the President of Katzakstan, the Patriarch of the Eastern Orthodox Church, US Senator Diane Feinstein and many others. His CDs are in distribution in 114 countries around the world. He performs frequently on both coasts of the US, has performed in Berlin, and most recently performed at the new Los Angeles Walt Disney Concert Hall. The Village Voice chose Boris' NYC performances as "performance pick of the week" and Gourmet Magazine calls his work "light-hearted and celebratory".

Janice Ortega - Harp

Janice Ortega is a native of San Mateo and began her studies of the harp at age 10. She graduated with honors in music from California State, Hayward. Scholarships enabled her to continue graduate studies at the Royal Conservatory of the Netherlands. She has performed in Europe with the Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam, Liege (Belgium)Orkestra Philharmonique, Limberg (Holland)Symphony Orchestra, Gianville Symphony in Milan, Italy, and the Von Karajan Orchestra (Berlin). She made many European television and radio appearances as soloist and as a member of the California d'Oro Chamber Players. She received the Artist Diploma from the Royal Conservatory of the Netherlands and the Master of Music Degree in harp performance from Indiana University under the direction of Susann McDonald. She also studied with Juilliard Professor Nancy Allen at the Aspen School of Music. Janice Ortega is currently on the Music Faculty of California State University, Hayward. She is active as both a classical and pop musician in the Bay Area. Janice Ortega has performed for several years as soloist and in ensemble settings with the symphony orchestras of Berkeley, Oakland, and San Jose, the Peninsula Civic Light Opera, the San Jose Civic Light Opera, and with the Royal Viking Cruise Line.

Michelle Sell - Harp

Michelle Sell enjoys an extremely active career as a professional harpist. Since 1977, Michelle has played an average of 150-200 professional engagements per year. She has performed for the Queen and King of Thailand, the Grand Duke and Duchess of Luxembourg, former President Jimmy Carter, Academy Award winning director Francis Ford Coppola, rock star Sammy Hagar, and former SF 49er quarterback Steve Young. Although Michelle is an alumna and former faculty member of San Francisco Conservatory, where she studied classical music with Marcella DeCray, she is also an award winning "pops" and jazz harpist. Her styles are diverse and extensive, ranging from Bach to Cole Porter. Michelle is also a composer for Omni Music in New York. Her original compositions have been used on television, radio, and in motion pictures. Whether it be a wedding, fund raiser, wedding reception, birthday party, retirement party, afternoon tea, or holiday affair, Michelle can be heard as a soloist or in combination with flute, cello, bass, guitar, violin, or saxophone. Depending on the engagement, classical flute and harp are beautiful accompaniments for your ceremony, while soprano saxophone, bass guitar, and harp are fabulous for your lively "jazzy" reception.

Daniel Maya - Classical & Spanish Guitar

Daniel Maya is known for his unique brand of pulsating, energetic music, best described as "Acoustic Groove". He studied Flamenco guitar in Spain with a family of Gypsy performers, and has a B.A. in Music from SF State University. He has performed widely throughout the San Francisco Bay area, has had lengthy engagements at the Four Seasons Clift Hotel, The Palace Hotel, and the famed restaurant "Michael Mina" at the Westin St. Francis Hotel. He has also performed at many wineries in Napa, Sonoma and the South Bay, including Robert Mondavi, Cuvaison, Artesa, Clos Pegase, Far Niente, Byington, Viansa, Sterling and Niebaum-Coppola. He and his group "Tocar" have appeared at the S.F. Jazz Festival, S.F. Performances, the North Beach Jazz Festival, and the San Jose Jazz Festival. Daniel Maya has recorded 3 CDs of original music, "Echoes of Paradise", "Mano a Mano", and "Flamenco Bridge", as well as a CD of Classical guitar, "Leyenda".

Davis Ramey - Classical & Jazz Guitar

Davis Ramey has been a leading guitarist in San Francisco and Northern California for over 20 years. He is equally accomplished in the jazz and classical fields. Davis' jazz and pop credits include performances with Tony Bennett, Johnny Mathis, Gregory Hines, Mark Isham, Debbie Allen and Michael Feinstein. Davis was professor of guitar at San Francisco State University for six years, and a member of the teaching staff of the American Conservatory Theatre(ACT). Among his credits as a composer and arranger are the score for an Elliot Fisk/Turtle Island String Quartet collaboration, and incidental music for ACT's production of Tennessee Williams "The Rose Tattoo".

Eric Symons - Classical & Spanish Guitar

Eric Symons is the prodigy of renowned guitarists Celedonio and Angel Romero. Eric now performs internationally with the latter and as a soloist in venues such as the Ford Center for the Performing Arts in Toronto, the Seoul Center for the Performing Arts, Copia, the American Center for Food Wine and the Arts. He was a headliner at the opening of Expo '92 in Seville where he received critical acclaim from Spanish press - "An American who is a true master of our music." Proclaimed Radio Sevilla of his opening Expo '92 performance. Of Eric's playing Angel Romero wrote, "Eric plays with the interpretation of a poet, and the technique of a young master." Rocco Ruggiero of the Napa Register wrote of Eric's 1997 annual recital at Gloria Ferrer Champagne Caves, "Eric is not only a great musicians, but when hearing his performance one thinks that he is also a magician." A resident of San Rafael, Eric has also performed numerous Bay Area concerts at venues such as Old First Church, Domaine Chandon, and the Jepson Theater. Orchestral appearances include the Reno Symphony and the Reno Chamber Orchestra.

Martin Cohen - Spanish & Flamenco Guitar

Martin Cohen is a native San Franciscan. He began playing guitar in 1975, entering San Francisco State University as a Music Major specializing in composition. His studies encompassed a wide variety of musical styles, including classical and jazz. He began studying flamenco in 1982 with Mariano Cordoba. He has studied all aspects of guitar playing within the art of flamenco, solo as well as dance and song accompaniment. Highlights of his performing experiences include supporting major artists including the Gipsy Kings, Santana, Linda Ronstat, and Los Lobos. His playing has been featured on recordings and films. Martin Cohen has appeared on local TV programs and the nationally televised Charles Kuralt Sunday extensively in the San Francisco Bay Area. Currently a member of San Francisco's oldest Flamenco company, Theatre Flamenco of San Francisco, Martin Cohen remains active in flamenco performance both in dance accompaniment and solo work. He is also leader of Guitarras y Congas, a band in the style of the Gipsy Kings.

Fara - Piano

Laura Sullivan - Classical & New Age Piano

Raised in a musical family, Laura Sullivan began playing the piano at 4 years old. At age 8 she was writing compositions and by 18 had composed a body of work, including 6 feature length musicals. She earned a Bachelors Degree in Piano Performance with honors from CSU Chico with further graduate studies at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Her work is included in film scores, and other media soundtrack. She will be a featured artist in a pilot TV show called Music Across America produced by legendary musician and 2004 Grammy nominee, Stanley Clarke. Laura is a member of the piano artist collective Whisperings founded by composer, pianist and radio programmer, David Nevue. This artist community promotes through its radio station and concert tours in which she performs beside artists including David Nevue, Scott D. Davis, Suzanne Ciani and David Lanz.

Martan Mann - Classical & Jazz Piano

Martan Mann has performed extensively in clubs and concerts throughout Northern California and Hawaii. He performed for 25 years at The Garden City in San Jose. His current activities include, Clazzical Jazz Lecture/Performance Series, developing a new contemporary jazz CD with the Martan Mann Trio, developing a concert tour with Martan Mann & Mannkind and the Martan Mann Trio, writing a new book on practicing improvisation. Recently musical director of "The Cole Porter Revue" and "Gershwin, Gershwin" at the Capitola Theater. Musical director for "How to Handle a Woman" at the Vault in Hollister. He is currently house pianist for the Jazz Society of Santa Cruz weekly jam session at Bocci's Cellar in Santa Cruz. He taught for three years at the San Jose Jazz Camp, and he is currently on the Board of Directors for the Steinway Society The Bay Area. Currently on the board of directors for the Jazz Society of Santa Cruz.

San Francisco Saxophone Quartet

Founded in 1977 and playing on the streets of San Francisco since 1989, where their uniform is white tie and tails... and baseball caps, The San Francisco Saxophone Quartet has now gone international, with a recent concert tour of Japan and worldwide distribution of their "Tails of the City" album on Angel Records. Playing from memory, the quartet uses transcriptions of classical music from all eras along with original compositions. Arrangements make use of the four saxophones, or three saxophones plus piano or harpsichord. As impressive as each member is in solo performance, it is the ensemble that is truly magnificent. Somehow these four saxophones manage to sound like a much larger assemblage, one including the sounds of oboes, trumpets, french horns, violins, and more. The effect is magical and gloriously musical. Their current CD release is entitled Winds of Change.
