Motordude Zydeco

Formed in 1989, Motordude Zydeco plays the infectious dance music of the Creole people of Southwest Louisiana known as Zydeco. Utilizing the instrumentation of piano accordion, button accordion, fratoir (or rubboard), guitar, bass, and drums, Motordude Zydeco creates a distinctive yet roots-oriented music blending traditional zydeco with original songs and rhythm and blues. The group's irresistible rhythms are guaranteed to pack any dance floor.

Mumbo Gumbo

The roots music of Mumbo Gumbo is a spicy blend of Gulf Coast musical influences: Zydeco, 2nd line R&B, Tex-Mex, Boogie-Woogie, and Latin / African. The musical melting -pot of styles that characterize this region are the basis for Mumbo Gumbo's festive sound. This seven piece band features red-hot vocals, accordion, washboard, swamp guitar, boogie piano, saxophones, and a rock- solid rhythm section.

The Sundogs

San Francisco-based swamp rockers the Sundogs were led by violinist Tom Rigney, an alumnus of Queen Ida's Bon Temps Zydeco Band and Back in the Saddle. After mounting a solo career with 1989s Rigo, he formed the Sundogs with singer/rubboardist Joe Paquin, guitarist T.J. Politzer, bassist John Aughney and drummer Jimmy Hobson; introducing their fusion of rock, zydeco and blues on 1992s Howlin', the group resurfaced two years later with To the Bone. 1997s Heavy Petting earned "Cajun Record of the Year" honors from Cajun Times, and was followed a year later by Dancing Room Only; a seasonal EP, Bon Temps Noel: A Swamp Beat Christmas, appeared in 1999.

Tom Rigney & Flambeau

Flambeau specializes in fiery Cajun and zydeco two-steps, low-down blues, funky New Orleans grooves, and heartbreakingly beautiful ballads and waltzes. Most of the repertoire is composed by Rigney, but they also mix in a few classics from the Cajun/zydeco/New Orleans songbook. And if, along the way, you pick up a trace of Rigney’s Irish roots or a little Swing and roots Rock and Roll, it just makes the musical gumbo that much tastier. In the past few year’s Rigney’s skills as a composer have broadened and deepened, and he is today writing some of the most evocative and uplifting music you will hear anywhere. And Rigney’s charismatic stage presence and high-energy delivery draw the audience into his performances and make them feel that they are an integral part of the music and the show.

Add some spicy sounds of the red-hot Flames to the menu of your next event!
